A Yin-Yang Model for Global Sustainability: Moving Towards Rural-Urban Balance
The article argues that a comprehensive approach to fighting climate change must consider both urban and rural areas, and should encompass strategies for both defensive pollution control and proactive carbon offsetting. In particular, it highlights the role of oceans as a potential carbon sink for carbon capture and storage, and suggests growing kelp forests to remove carbon dioxide from the air. The article proposes a holistic model based on the ancient Asian philosophies of yin and yang, which can serve as an interactive framework for sustainability strategy.
