Daylight Savings Time: Innovation Past Its Prime
The Division Technique, one of five in the innovation method called SIT, was used to create daylight savings time by dividing the standard day and shifting it to appear an hour off from standard time. However, the benefits of this innovation are no longer realized since it no longer serves a purpose. In fact, evidence suggests that daylight savings time is wasteful, cruel, and dangerous, with little to no impact on reducing electricity demand or improving productivity. This article also outlines the five basic steps to follow when utilizing the Division technique for innovation.
