You Never Know Someone's Private Hell Unless You're Listening

An old high school friend of Mike Brown's -- who is now known as JD -- survived a suicide attempt eight years ago, which he spoke about in a TED video. This experience made Brown realise that individuals are often fighting personal battles unknown to others. He then suggests that it is essential to listen to others with compassion, instead of just hearing them. Brown also stresses the importance of listening with multiple senses and not just your ears, as individuals may not express what they're going through verbally.
