What China Must Do to Innovate
Professors George Yip and Bruce McKern have identified six areas where China should focus its innovation efforts: cost, process, application, supply chain, product and business model innovation. Chinese companies are skilled at exploiting all of these forms of innovation, however, the use of methods such as Systematic Inventive Thinking would take China even further. For cost innovation, use the Task Unification Technique; for process innovation, employ the Division Technique; for application innovation, use the Task Unification Technique again; for supply chain innovation, use the Subtraction Technique; for product innovation, use the Attribute Dependency Technique; and for business model innovation, use the Multiplication Technique.
