We are in need of a common language for innovation
The lack of a common language for innovation can be a significant barrier to progress, leading to misunderstandings, biases, and inefficiencies. A shared vocabulary that is relevant, accurate, and visible throughout an organization can foster collaboration and build a more robust innovation management system. By developing a common language, we can better structure governance, process, and functional structures, build a culture that is responsive to change, and achieve more concurrence among our collaborators. We need to invest time and resources in practicing and refining our understanding of innovation and building shared knowledge repositories that can benefit stakeholders. A common language can be the bedrock for innovation and is essential for successful collaboration and effective outcomes.
