The LAB: Innovating an Aquarium Using S.I.T. (February 2010)
One graduate student at the University of Cincinnati was tasked with coming up with new-to-the-world concepts for aquariums using the S.I.T method of corporate innovation. Janette Douglas produced five interesting ideas, including a plant-only tank for people who enjoy the peaceful nature of aquariums but don't want the responsibility of caring for an animal. Other ideas include self-regulating temperature through assigning the job to gravel, the use of two separate tanks, and changing glass panel clarity based on oxygen levels in the environment.
