Should Any Innovation Be Nationally Structured?

Innovation should not be contained within national borders as it needs to go where it is needed and felt. Solutions closer to the final consumer have a greater chance of success in solving their needs. Nationalized innovations are often not seen or valued by others and are not adopted as 'our own' solutions. Social issues are even more fluid and transcends boundaries, generating social unrest that drives change. National measurements only capture a given part of activities within a geographical area, missing out on cross-border flows that make higher value points in innovation.
