Managing Clients Who Love Their Creative Ideas
When managing a client who loves their own creative ideas, it's important to understand the client's opinions, motivations, and foundation for loving the idea. To do so, ask questions that probe potential concerns and discuss how the idea meets the primary objective. Once you have diagnosed the situation, analyze and size up the situation, plan your options, and develop a multi-tiered case that highlights the similarities in alternative ideas. However, avoid waging an all-out battle to defeat an idea, as it's hardly ever productive for the client or anyone else involved in the situation.
