How to enhance innovation through creative conversations Dr Ken Hudson
Leaders who facilitate creative or innovation conversations need to develop the skill of receptivity. This means not subjectively dismissing an idea without due consideration, but rather exploring its potential. Leaders must learn how to bring a constructive rather than critical view to conversations while prompting participants to add to ideas before analyzing what is not working. A neutral exploration of an idea rather than jumping to judgment is essential. A creative culture is defined not only by its ability to generate ideas but also by its openness to ideas from diverse sources. A culture of idea receptivity creates a positive cycle where success breeds success.
