How Technology is Changing the Role of Librarians
Technology is dramatically changing the traditional role of librarians through three key transformations. Firstly, ethical dilemmas have evolved, making it increasingly important for librarians to uphold codes of ethics and responsibility around privacy and data protection. Secondly, with the explosion of digital information, librarians must be equipped to rapidly analyze data, interpret human behavior, and help their patrons transition to a digital world. Finally, the shift to digital resources presents both opportunities and challenges, as librarians work to retain the tactile and community aspects of traditional libraries while providing access to modern resources.
