Four Types of Innovation – part 1
Innovation comes in various forms and sizes, with four distinct levels: Transformational, Category, Marketplace, and Operational. This article focuses on Transformational Innovation, which is a rare and powerful breakthrough that changes society and impacts the way we live. It is disruptive, revolutionary in scope, and sustainable in dimension. Examples include the automobile, the light bulb, and the internet. Although Transformational Innovation carries the greatest risk and is not suitable for large corporate environments, it provides immense benefits to our culture.
