Employee Engagement 2015: Not Much Has Changed
Gallup surveys indicate that less than one-third of American workers are engaged in their jobs. Millennials, in particular, have a strong sense of disengagement, with only 28.9% reporting engagement due to lack of opportunity to use their talents and strengths at work. To improve engagement among Millennials, supervisors should understand their motivators, speak their language, and provide them with consistent feedback. All employees, regardless of generation, want to feel respected, heard, and part of a community. Engaging employees also requires a clear and compelling vision of winning that inspires individuals to feel their efforts make a difference in the world.
