Can you teach people to innovate?
Innovation is not something that can be taught through education or training. Instead, it requires the right mindset, experience and courage to break free from constraints and question the status quo. While specific innovation tools and techniques can be helpful, they do not guarantee innovation success. Companies need to create an innovation-friendly culture and remove barriers that prevent innovation from taking root. Innovation is a holistic process that requires a willingness to take risks and embrace failure. Training is only effective when it leads to consistent and repeated innovation activities, which are often hindered by corporate constraints and a lack of executive commitment.
