Viima seeks to democratize innovation by debunking 21 common myths and misconceptions surrounding it. These include the belief that innovation is a solo activity, that only geniuses can innovate and that innovation is always positive. The reality is that innovation can be learnt, it's not just big breakthroughs and it's a combination of skills including logical thinking, problem solving, creativity, empathy and practical skills. Ideation can be approached as a solo activity, but innovation needs capable leadership and management processes. Innovation isn't inherently good or bad, there are often unanticipated consequences for stakeholders. While not every company should be working on disruptive technologies or new business models, every organization should focus on incremental improvements of existing processes, products and services.
