Zero Budget - A Boon to Innovation
Budgetary thinking can stifle innovative thinking by limiting the scope of ideas and actions. One exercise to encourage breakthrough thinking is to start with no budget and challenge teams to develop a concept that will increase revenue by 10% or more within 18 months. This forces teams to think creatively and find new ways to connect with buyers and influencers. Money can be a numbing drug, but by acting as if there is no budget, teams can break out of habitual patterns and limited experiences.
