We are not facing up to the big Societal challenges of today?
The author believes that we are facing significant challenges such as global warming, food and water shortages, and increasing health issues, which can only be tackled with effective innovation. However, organizations and societies have failed to provide us with the skills, tools and techniques necessary to innovate on a global scale. The author suggests five possible solutions: stepping back and putting innovation to its better use, providing places for experimentation, granulating and customizing activities, putting to use non-human aspects to speed up decision-making, and innovating new business models, products, and services. We need a new evolution and revolution to put radical innovations back on the global agenda, reducing our throw-away consumption and preserving precious resources.
