What are the three things every idea needs to be successful? The balanced breakthrough model
The Balanced Breakthrough Model is a framework consisting of three essential attributes - desirability, feasibility, and viability - that must be present for an innovation to be successful. If any of these factors are missing, the innovation program is likely to fail. Companies can use this model to prioritize ideas and projects in their innovation portfolio pipeline. The challenge is to validate each idea, but this can be done by testing certain assumptions related to desirability, feasibility, and viability. The validation process should be appropriate to the stage of development and level of investment required. As an idea is developed further into an innovation, more and more data will become available through rapid experimentation which either validates or invalidates the premise of the idea.
