Towards A Spiral Economy
During the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Summit 2017, various attendees from a variety of fields gathered to produce strategies for constructing a circular economy. Speakers such as Kate Raworth and Tim Brown participated in innovative sessions and presentations centered on achieving this goal. Although there was little opportunity for the audience to participate and contribute, a brief two-minute interaction between attendees revealed a potential solution to overcome the limitations of recycling: a spiral economy, inspired by natural spirals like the Fibonacci sequence. Overall, the event was a success in promoting sustainability and innovation ideals.
