The Flow Framework™ – Treating risk items as a security cost
Innovation management strategy should include budgetary allocation to each of the four flow items of the Flow Framework™, including risk flow items. These items may not provide direct value, but they offer market values and protect against threats to a company. They include securely managing passwords, ensuring encrypted web traffic, SQL injection protection, and preventing clickjacking. Measuring the value of risk items can be challenging, as they can be difficult to quantify against the more immediate returns generated by features and defects. Nonetheless, it is essential to allocate funds for these items to protect against catastrophic events.
