Selfish Innovation
Neuroscience research shows that there is a fundamental human behavior of selfishness. While this does not seem to make sense from a survival standpoint, the act of self-disclosure triggers the reward mechanism in the brain which explains why people love to talk about themselves. The Selfish Meme theory is applicable to innovation workshops where the facilitator should pose questions to ensure participants are expressing opinions thus triggering the brain reward mechanism. This may be a motivator towards better results, and the facilitator should maintain proper engagement with all the participants.
