Open Innovation & Crowdsourcing: B2B versus B2C
Innovation expert Stefan Lindegaard explores the differences and similarities between open innovation in B2B and B2C companies. While crowdsourcing may work better for B2C companies, B2B companies still need to integrate external input into their innovation processes. B2C companies also tend to have a more open mindset, but they can also get stuck in traditional ways of doing things. Both types of companies share similar challenges, such as developing an innovation strategy and building an innovation culture. Moving beyond incremental innovation and embracing disruptive innovation is a goal for both B2B and B2C companies. To achieve this, companies must focus on challenge-driven innovation and build eco-systems and communities for innovation.
