Innovation waits for no man
Innovation is ever-present, and there's always another firm or product seeking to disrupt an industry, as seen in the movie rental business. Blockbuster was the first national chain, but Netflix disrupted it by mailing movies to customers and eliminating late fees. Now there's a new DVD company, Flexplay, that offers a throwaway option, where DVDs can be used and discarded. Netflix missed this opportunity because it is still centered on its rental model. It's important to keep up with consistent innovation and market disruptions, regardless of industry.
