Idea Prioritization – How to Succeed?
As innovation teams are often inundated with a plethora of ideas, prioritization is a key component of successful innovation management. However, selecting the right ideas to pursue can be challenging. This article explores the role of idea prioritization and presents common models for prioritizing ideas, such as the Eisenhower Matrix and Impact/Effort Matrix, while also highlighting their benefits and limitations. Additionally, the article provides a five-step process for selecting the most impactful ideas, including setting goals, defining criteria, evaluating and prioritizing new ideas, and testing and executing. Ultimately, the article emphasizes the importance of a structured, individualized approach to prioritization in order to optimize innovation success.
