How to run more effective meetings Dr Ken Hudson
Managers and leaders often complain about meetings being a drain on their time, but with proper planning and execution, meetings can be productive and even inspiring. The nine principles for effective meetings, which include treating meetings as a last resort, setting clear goals, and being selective in attendance, can be learned and practiced to make meetings more engaging, productive, and less time-consuming. With imagination and creativity, meetings can be designed to be more enjoyable and less boring, and by prioritizing the important items and keeping agendas loose, more can be accomplished in less time. Finally, managers should not feel obligated to attend every meeting, but should only accept meetings where their attendance is truly necessary and beneficial.
