How to organize your innovation team
To enhance your innovation team's performance, it is important to have a clear goal, appointed leader, diverse perspectives and healthy conflict. The goal must be clear and set upfront to keep the team on the same page moving towards the same goal. Leadership authority is important. Co-leadership is great in most situations but having just one appointed leader is an optimum for a smaller group of individuals trying to achieve a clear goal. To increase the likelihood of identifying undiscovered possibilities, you need to unite different and opposing perspectives inside an innovation team. Conflict can be healthy and foster creative problem-solving, but it needs to be addressed before it escalates.
