In a recent BCG report, 76% of executives worldwide identified innovation among their top three strategic priorities. Dr. Ken Hudson, who conducted a doctoral research on Designing a Continuously Creative Organisation, asked 88 leaders how to build a more innovative team. The leaders identified six attributes of a creative environment: idea receptivity, continual experimentation, risk-taking, enjoyment of the process, focus on results, and operating at the edge of chaos. Fostering this innovative culture requires a leadership style that facilitates and enables creativity rather than commanding and controlling.
