Anders Ericsson, an expert on human performance, has identified five principles for developing a new skill. Start with a specific, achievable goal and create a plan to achieve it. Step out of your comfort zone to push yourself beyond your current abilities. Practice regularly to improve and obtain feedback from external sources, such as coaches or peers, or through personal reflection. These principles can be applied to physical or thinking skills alike.
