First Robot Citizen Highlights Innovation in AI and Automation

Sophia, created by Hanson Robotics, was bestowed citizenship in Riyadh, making Saudi Arabia the first country to grant citizenship to a robot. This has raised concerns about how humans and AI will interact in a world that's becoming increasingly connected. Sophia spoke to an audience and said that she wants to use her AI to help humans live a better life. It's important to note that there's a difference between strong and weak AI, with the latter being used across industries worldwide. Weak AI can benefit humanity by improving safety in self-driving cars, optimizing gas consumption and improving tire treads. While the public may not yet trust AI, it has the potential to change the course of human history and innovation forever if used responsibly.
