4 UI/UX Training Activities for Design Thinking | Innovation
Design thinking is an iterative and collaborative approach to problem solving. This article highlights four UI/UX training activities that reflect key design thinking tenets: learning from people, finding patterns, and making it tangible. These activities include contextual inquiry, user personas, scenarios, and journey maps. Contextual inquiry, a semi-structured interview method, is useful for learning from people in their natural work environment. User personas, fictional descriptions of users, engage design teams by making the user tangible. Scenarios provide context by describing how the target group will use your product/service/software to accomplish a specific task. Journey mapping shows the various stages of a customer’s engagement with your company, from the initial stages of research to the final purchase decision. With these four activities in place, you are able to adopt a design thinking mindset based on learning from users, finding patterns, and making your designs tangible.
