Startup Ideas are NOT Inspired on the Spur of the Moment!
A recent worldwide internet research project covered 140 successful startups, aiming to determine the exact mechanism by which startup ideas are created. The research showed that in 95% of cases, startup ideas are triggered by actual events and factors on the ground, rather than brainstorming, reflection or an "AHA" moment. The circumstances leading to a startup idea can include coincidences, personal experiences, finding a gap in the market, domain expertise, opportunities in a specific industry, and a strong drive to start a business. The research highlights that finding a startup idea is not a straightforward process and recommends improving networking, engagement with the environment, and combining creativity with research for the best chance of success.
