Signal Detection Theory Innovation
Traditional methods of assessing innovation projects rely on identifying promising ideas while weeding out weaker options. However, an article on countering scam emails suggests an alternative approach. The article, titled "Why We Should Scam the Scammers," proposes that trying to overwhelm scammers with false positives can actually protect potential victims in the long run. Similarly, innovators may benefit from exploring less-promising ideas rather than quickly dismissing them. A workshop facilitator can try to draw value from every idea introduced, even those that may seem irrelevant to the current innovation theme. This can lead to increased creativity and open up new ways of thinking.
