Innovation Pilot Program
One way to minimize the cost and resistance while testing new innovation methods is to start a pilot program. To organize a pilot program, companies need to: build a business case, enroll other divisions in the program, select a method, pick the right consultant, recruit a diverse team, measure and share the results, and make it stick. The challenge is to choose the right consultant with specific expertise in one of the four categories: invention, design, engineering, and actualization, and to avoid naysayers who surf into the pilot off and on.
