Hope predicts creativity, according to a study from Armenio Rego and his colleagues, who found it to be an integral part of a positive motivational belief in one’s future. For innovation to thrive in the workplace, it is important that employees have hope and a desire to challenge the status quo. To inspire hope, leaders can use a model outlined by Darren Webb that involves vision and mission, clear goals, empowerment, trust, competitive threat and survival. By creating a sense of control and passion, leaders can instill hope and drive innovation.
