Goal versus Objective: What’s the Difference?
Establishing good communication is a key driver for project success. One way to ensure everyone is aligned is by understanding two of the most commonly used terms in project management – ‘goals’ and ‘objectives’. ‘Goals’ should be specific, clear and have a practical ideal. They answer the question of what the main aim of the project is. ‘Objectives’, on the other hand, are tangible and measurable results that must meet the planned end time, budget and quality restrictions. They answer the question of how something is to be done. Good comprehension of these terms is essential for success in project management.
