Single source of truth
A single source of truth is a centralized location for storing, managing, and interacting with data that ensures everyone in the organization references the same up-to-date information. To achieve this, there must be a clear and strong governance model, a simple and easy-to-understand information structure, and awareness and understanding from the whole business. Challenges in implementing a single source of truth include information overload, information in too many formats, and inadequate information storage. To overcome these challenges, organizations need to implement a solid and clear governance model, apply a structure to their information, and raise awareness of the importance of following the correct ways of working.
