Innovation Sighting: Putting Space Aliens to Work

The Task Unification Technique, out of a total of five techniques in the SIT methodology, is one of the most effective ways to come up with ingenious ideas. It simply involves assigning a new task to an existing resource in the immediate vicinity of the problem, what we call The Closed World. Scientists have proposed an exciting new approach in the search for extraterrestrial life. The idea is to target worlds that can spot us by dimming sun's light in Earth's transit zone, where Earth can be detected using the same methods from a small strip of space. By using Task Unification, it is possible to generate innovative ideas, such as the sterilization of male flies to eradicate tsetse flies.
