How Might We Statements: Asking the Right Questions
Design Thinking is a cyclical approach to innovative problem-solving, and the Empathy step enables us to understand target audience (TA), their feelings, and needs. HMW questions build the foundation for the ideation process, allowing teams to brainstorm about different ways to achieve solutions. The technique relies on a play of words with three simple yet powerful words - How, Might, and We - to create a healthy question. It is a valuable technique to determine what needs to be done to achieve business goals, but asking the right HMW questions is crucial to avoid being too broad or too narrow.
