Harvesting Innovation from the Desert
The Back End of Innovation 2018 conference in Phoenix addressed many aspects of innovation, from leadership workshops to measuring innovation opportunity cost. One of the key takeaways was the need for management teams to have a language they can leverage to redirect efforts when things go off track. Entrepreneurship was another focus area discussed at the conference, with innovation practitioners believing that companies committed to innovation and to existing years from now need to treat Entrepreneurship as a core capability of the company. Ideas being developed in the Entrepreneurship part of the business need to be handled differently and have different resources available to them than things that are part of the existing operations of the company.
